Here is a corporate identity I did for a construction company with over 25 years of experience in residential and light commercial construction in Ohio, Florida, Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, Mississippi, and Louisiana, as well as expert witness consulting, and fraud prevention.

The big problem was, as a small, family-owned company, competing head-to-head with much larger, national companies, with huge marketing budgets, the owner needed his companies proposals to look like they could compete. So I developed a new logo and updated the company image, designing a clean, solid corporate look, with elements that I incorporated into their office and marketing materials, and also provided materials for their website.

This was great fun for me. I designed this entire deck of 54 animal cards, and I saw it through every step of the publishing process, including package design. I am currently working on designs for a new box for the second printing.

Here are a couple of black & white sponsor ads I'm working on for a program, for the Heights Youth Club annual "Taste of the Heights" fund raising event. It's a great fun night where dozens of local restaurants donate their time and best of all, their amazing food. There is live music and some amazing prize auctions. If you get the chance to go you should, not only is it a wonderful event, but the Heights Youth Club is amazing organization, and very deserving of our support!

When does it make sense to self publish?

If you're a successful business person, a book could help you promote yourself as an expert. Having a book to sell could be great compliment at events were you've been asked to speak. If you've been writing a blog for some time now to promote yourself as an expert, you probably already have enough great material archived to make a great book. Often you can write the initial expenses against marketing, and the book can even begin to pay for itself as you sell copies of your books to clients and at speaking engagements and lectures.

It makes sense to self publish, if you can hire someone to do some, or all the work for you. Self-publishing isn't just for people who have written a memoir, cookbook or family history that they want to share with family and friends. Below are just two of the books I've helped people to publish. If you'd like to self-publish book, but don't want to do all the work, I can help. Send me an email and I can tell you how.

Here is a fun publication I did. It's a walking tour map and guide of the University Circle area. I was the art director and production manager, coordinating the production and materials, with multiple clients, advertisers and the various other organizations involved in the project. Game programer

This was a fun project I did for several years in a row. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Gameday program. I had to coordinate with national and local advertisers, the NFL and the wonderful people at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The NFL provided the covers and one interior section, the rest was up to me, designing and redesigning pages to be colorful and new for fans who had been coming to the annual game and ceremony for years!

This was a sixteen page magazine I designed for Northern Ohio Live magazine for the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners and the Growth Partnership for Ashtabula County. Designed to run as a 16 page section of the magazine and to be over-run as a promotional vehicle for the Ashtabula County.

We developed a logo and promotional items for an industrial maintenance product manufacturer, that also worked as an incentive program. For a limited time, the company shipped "Building Maintenance Pro" T-shirts and hats with selected products. The idea was to provide incentives but also to provide enough shirts and hats for customers who were largely contractors and facility maintenance managers, that they could give them to their work crews who would be applying the products. The client was an award-winning custom home builder that had a great deal of info they wanted to convey in a magazine ad. We needed to include the company info, a variety of home styles, and highlight several specific property areas, with individual contact information. We came up with the iconic property themed board game look that makes a distinctive statement and created a structure to organize everything into a fun eye-catching magazine ad.

Produced for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association, to comemmerate the Tenth Anniversary of Ohio's historic Towpath Trail, this is one of my favorite examples of publication design. I served as both Production Manager and Art Director, taking the project from start to finish, this twenty-four page piece was put together in two days, meeting a print deadline that couldn't be missed!

I developed marketing materials for a plan to coordinate a publisher's print and web advertising programs, also developing a program for promotional monthly email newsletter for advertisers. Using material from the publisher's individual annual community magazines to create a monthly composite e-magazine to be mailed to all advertisers across the companies entire magazine line. To increase communication during the year with annual advertisers, and to increase awareness of the entire line of magazines with those advertisers, encouraging ad sales from existing clients in additional community publications.
